Module 4: Design the Life of Your Dreams

Lesson 4.3: Intentional Choices Today

From vision to today's choices: Vision; 90-day goal; 30 / 60 / 90; Daily & weekly; If-then.

The future you envision is built from the choices you make today. This lesson turns your vision and focus areas into a practical plan, then helps you make the small, intentional choices that bring that life closer.

From vision to 90-day goals

For each focus area, write one 90-day goal that moves you meaningfully toward your vision. Make it specific enough that you’ll know whether you did it. For example:

  • Vision: I have steady energy and feel strong in my body. → 90-day goal: Walk 30 minutes, five days a week, and be in bed by 10:30 on weeknights.
  • Vision: I have close, honest friendships. → 90-day goal: Have one unhurried catch-up with a friend every week.

Break it into 30/60/90 days

Divide each goal into three stages:

  • Days 1–30: set up the basics and build the habit.
  • Days 31–60: strengthen it and remove what gets in the way.
  • Days 61–90: make it part of who you are, and review what you’ve learned.

Choose your daily and weekly actions

Big changes are made of small, repeated choices. For each goal, choose:

  • One daily action that takes 15 minutes or less.
  • One weekly action that moves the goal forward.

Put them in your calendar. A choice that has a time and a place is far more likely to happen than one that lives only in your head.

The intentional choice question

Throughout your day, you’ll make dozens of small decisions. Before the important ones, pause and ask:

Does this choice move me toward the life I envision, or away from it?

You won’t always choose the “toward” option, and that’s human. What matters is that you choose consciously more often. Over weeks and months, these small choices add up.

Plan for obstacles

Look back at your obstacle inventory from Module 3. For each goal, write an if-then plan for the obstacle most likely to get in the way. If I feel too tired to walk after work, then I’ll walk for ten minutes instead of skipping it. Planning your response in advance makes it much easier to keep going on hard days.

A weekly design review

Set aside 20 minutes each week to review: What did I do this week that matched my vision and values? What got in the way? What’s my one most important action for next week? This short review keeps your life design alive.

Try this: your 30/60/90-day plan

Complete the Intentional Choices worksheet: one 90-day goal for each focus area, your 30/60/90 stages, one daily action, one weekly action, one if-then plan, and a time for your weekly review. Then make your first intentional choice today.
